I've been on and off Win10 during the insider preview and I really liked it.
But I'll be installing the enterprise version that can disable all the "telemetry sending" to the cloud etc. etc... I really don't like the privacy policies of Win10.

I'm upgrading to an Ubuntu/XP dual boot on an SSD. XP for games and Ubuntu for everything else.

i just got updatex nvidea drivers that fixes problems with 900 series drivers. i'll likely move to win 10 as soon as the free update is available to me. mostly i want to see what kind of performance i get with games. supposedly i'll be seeing a pretty solid improvement from what i hear.
if it's good, cool, if not i'll fresh install 7 again.

Welp, looks like I'm holding off on upgrading, then.

Because I only like old games. Why, praytell, would I need Win 7/8/10 to run Quake?

what is telemetry and what's it mean to send it from your PC to microsoft non-stop
I read about it and it's like, over my head

It's pretty vague, but I would guess that it is just data they use for improving the interface, like what mode you are in and where your cursor generally is and stuff like that. It could be more sinister, it's not defined in the privacy policy.
