Considering that Windows Update is a literal botnet with Windows 10 now, inability to reject automatic security updates (which considering Microsoft's track record, can hose your system more often then not), and other such nonsense, I would advise you to wait 3 months or 6 to make a decision. See if they've turned around by then. If not, clutch to Windows 7 for dear life or switch to a saner operating system.

But eventually there will come a time when Windows 7 becomes obsolete much like Windows XP and video game developers don't develop for iOS or GNU Linux much.

No one is going to be developing for Windows 10 specifically, since it's main gaming component (DX12), is at present only supported on brand-new NVIDIA gear. That, and Vulkan is gaining wide adoption and support across the industry (translation: many more games coming out for Linux as if the current flood of games weren't coming out enough already). That, and even if what I'm saying falls flat, game devs will still target 7/8.1 for quite some time, stemming from the simple reason that the install base is still quite large and will remain so for at least the next 3-5 years (hell, people were still developing for XP up until 2011-2012, and some minority circles still do <cough>doujinshi</cough>). So like I said, you will have nothing to fear.

That time won't be tomorrow. Wait a while and let everyone else report the inevitable bugs, crashes, and hitherto unknown massive security holes. After they iron it out and there is something you actually want to run on Windows 10, then switch. Just my two cents though.

Well, if you can't resist a new version of Minecraft, then I guess you're stuck. Just know there will probably be bugs. (EDIT: Bugs with Windows, maybe Minecraft, maybe not, but almost certainly Windows)
There will undoubtedly be countless tech articles on Windows 10 today and all through the week. If you want to read one right now, Ars Technica has a pretty nerdy, nitpicky article up that discusses what is good and not-so-good about the new Windows.

Top fucking lol... DX12 is pretty much a copy paste of AMDs Mantle API, and that's one of the reasons AMD cards kick nVidias ass in all the bits and pieces that are released so far in DX12.

just want a useful operating system that lets me customize to my heart's content and doesn't piss me right off
they also need to stop the home/pro versions nonsense and just have one version with a setting that lets your god damn kids fart around with it without fucking it right up
