Yeah i have heard about kids being sure about this sort of stuff all the time. But this story? Its kind of hard to believe, i mean surley the world would have heard about this a long time ago?

Reincarnation is an Eastern ideal; Christianity silences any possibility that doesn't belong to their doctrine.

If they can't remove one youtube video, how do you expect them to silence anything at all?
hater !JGlOo5d1iU joined in and replied with this 11 years ago, 3 minutes later, 29 minutes after the original post[^][v]#584,004
Yea, I'm pretty sure reincarnation isn't real cause there's no biological component that would allow for it. Perhaps you could recall memories from a genetic ancestor because of soemtbing in DNA, but even then you would only recall memories from up until they reproduced, you wouldn't remember their death.
This is bullshit, and anyone who believes in it is a fool who should be sterilized and any progeny of theirs should as well.

Uh, souls aren't real as far as I know. There's no reason to believe the soul exists. It's never been seen, measured, or interacted with.

Its belief. Sometimes truth can only be seen with belief. Belief.

the fuck even is a soul anyway? some archaic concept for some unknown natural function? like how lightning and thunder is Zeus battling Poseidon?

That's a worthless statement. Believing in something absent evidence is foolish and close to delusion. Grow up, child. Do not breed, and if you have children find the nearest bathtub and do the right thing. You are inferior and unworthy of using the limited resources available on earth.
Anonymous B replied with this 11 years ago, 1 minute later, 56 minutes after the original post[^][v]#584,031
Well you see we are talking about truth right now. I claim that if it is truthful that people should not be cruel, then that is only something that can be believed in.

I am on topic. You said that anyone who believes in anything with absent evidence is foolish and delusional. So.... Is it also foolish and delusional to think its a matter of truth- not opinion, that people should not harm people?

You wish to argue semantics. I don't waste my time on such nonsense.
Opinions are opinions. Belief in such things as divine beings absent any evidence is foolish. Belief in the harm of actions because of measurable consequences is not delusional.
You aren't cognitively capable of discussing this it seems. You are too ignorant, and I'm guessing extremely autistic.

Again, its not the harm of some acts of cruelty that is in question. What is in question is if the same applies to thinking there is any truth to opinions such as people should not harm people. If there is no evidence that people should not harm people, then it takes belief to think its a matter of truth right?

You are kind of too stupid to discuss this. It's belief based on evidence. The evidence being the consequences of those actions.
Whereas, belief in a divine being is absent evidence.
Apologize for wasting my time with your stupidity.

Now, as to your question, the current zeitgeist rates negative consequences as harmful. Thus, actions that cause negative consequences would be labeled as harmful.

Ah yes, harmful things are harmful. Very true. However that is not what i asked hater, i asked how the consequence of harmful actions prove that people should not do harmful things. It doesn't work to just repeat that harmful things are harmful, it would be like me repeating that opening a door causes the door to open and thus it proves nobody should open doors.

It's the "life force" in beliefs that involve reincarnation
The belief is that there's a huge pool of life force and when one dies it is absorbed back into the pool and when a new being is born some of the life force is taken from the pool

That's fantastic! Now they can institute past-life murder victim screenings at preschools and solve all these cases. Once the kid is able to talk coherently just ask them how they died in their most recent life and if it sounds suspicious have them referred to a detective for follow-up.

I believe in reincarnation. It is said in the three universal truths that nothing is lost in the universe, everything changes, and the law of cause and effect. In the teachings of Buddhism it is said the soul does not remember it's past life.

The law of cause and effect (karma) will determine how your next life will be. I'm not sure if that really answers the question though as you don't remember your past lives. Attaining nirvana will free one from the cycle of life and death.
