I also do find it invasive and demeaning to the kids. Some are in their teens. I can't imagine it helps that much to have them advertised online; people who are interested in adopting will just call the agency and talk. I would think.

I guess the adoptive parents might want a child who looks sorta like them?
Or they might want to know if the child would fit in with the family, what their personality and background is like, etc
Idk, I don't know anyone who's adopted children but its just a guess.

People can get picky, they want to see what the kids have to say about themselves so they can see anyone who would fit in
If you force people to use the phone, visit irl immediately to observe the children etc then you're basically limiting it all to the local area, using online tools people country-wide can find your agency

I'm not sure, I just assumed it would be the case because if I was in charge of an adoption agency I would want my potential family pool to be as huge as possible.
