Mine is that we simply cease to exist after death.

I worry a lot about losing my fingers. Like in an accident, or when I fall asleep wrong on my arm and it cuts off the blood flow to my hands and they feel numb when I wake up.

@OP
why worry about something that wont matter cause you wont be around to care?

That is why I fear it: I cannot fathom not existing.

You can only get penis up now with Viagra. Which really doesn't matter cause you haven't been laid in a half a century.

We will cease to exist after death. There is no afterlife. The only thing you will do is push grass and weeds to the surface of the ground.

You wish such were true. Nor am I really against modern medicine for those in Need SO if one day I am in need of such - but frankly those in need have bad circulation problems do mostly to bad diet loaded with animal fat and no exercise -

I do blame Minichan for giving me a shift in Monday plans where I NEVER Eat Steak - But a topic 2day got me to change plans - I doubt I will ever need that pill. If I must one day then sure. Working hard to make sure such is NOT needed

my worst fear is that i won't have a high quality sword when the zombie apocalypse starts. things are expensive though if you're wanting more than just a novelty sword for display.

i think i'd prefer a short sword and small shield. less unwieldy in tight hallways. a 2 handed sword is quite a lot heavier. TBH probably the best thing would be a war hammer anyway. those are made to head shot and be used over and over very quickly. with the right shape you won't even get it stuck in any bone which is going to happen with swords sometimes. so probably i'd carry a small shield, maybe even a buckler, a war hammer and a short sword. if i need to keep distance i'll also have a variety of handguns and at least one rifle as well. last resort, though, guns.

War hammers are mounted weapons designed to crush plate armour, you'll have a difficult time knocking a zombie's head off and defeating a group of them quickly, in a tight hallway situation you would be better off with a gun or bow and arrow

oh, are they for mounted? that makes sense i guess, but you probably know better than i do. aren't you a history geek or something? but yeah, crushing plate armor would be the idea, just replace "plate armor" with "skull." I read about how hammers were shaped so they wouldn't easily get stuck in plate (or bone) or if they did they could easily be wrenched free. axes on the other hand could get stuck, so i might have also been reading about pikes with hammers on one side, whatever those were called. pole-arms and the like.

for a hallway i wouldn't want bow and arrow. guns, sure, but those are always limited and wasteful and resource dependent. I would think some kind of shield and a short striking weapon that does massive trauma. like a hammer or a mace or something. just something that deals devastating head trauma. pair those up with some proper light armor and you're good to go against anything but a live human. (that's why you keep the guns in reserve, for the more dangerous element. zombies are really trifling when properly equipped.

My girlfriend is the history geek not me, lol. I am going to study it next year though. Also turns out I remembered wrong, I got mixed up when I read they work especially well against mounted units (You can smash the legs to dismount the rider).

But still though, I wouldn't go with a hammer. You're well within biting-range just to attack and by that time you have to land a perfect blow first time or you're fucked. You're asking to be eaten! If I had to get that up close and personal, I'd rather have an aluminium baseball bat so I can knock them back and give myself some breathing room to get out of the situation. If I was going melee for the kill I'd want something with a long reach so I can stay out of danger. I suggest claymore because it's light, quick, long and usually comes with a Riccasso so it's versatile. For ranged, I'd rather have a good bow than a gun or crossbow. Crossbows take ages to reload and guns are too loud. Bow and arrows are simple to make and maintain. If I was to carry a gun, it would be a handgun for use with hostile people.

What light armour would you choose?

probably something like motorcycle kit. good leathers over something like denim. sturdy leather boots. then over all of that reinforce forearms and lower leg with probably, again, maybe like dirtbike style shin protectors and wrist guards. leather gloves with probably metal knuckles like they make for the army. i could certainly reinforce leather outers with additional patchwork leather. i don't think i would take it much further than that but to make sure i had bite proof clothes and some weaponized areas (like maybe steel plate added to the wrist guards for some bashing power, idk. mostly i'd want to make sure i can't be easily bit. but you also want mobility and to not overheat. so i wouldn't try to get super fancy. I mean 2 layers of denim of probably good enough to prevent a bite wound. probably wearing pants and a long sleeve shirt would be like my absolute minimum amount of armor. maybe just stitch some leather patches onto some army fatigues or something. but yeah. something cobbled together i'm sure.

unless of course power armor exists, them i'm all about the mechanized exoskeleton. but once you've got that you're pretty much OP anyway

Not really. If it's caused by a parasite, it's entirely possible for it to be a natural occurrence. It would be more like the existing parasites that cause abnormal behavior among its host. It will not be like movie zombies as your body needs to function to move. Magic isn't real.
