If you had worked at NMW for the amount of time you spent playing Civ V, you would be £3,843.70 richer.

I value my free time at much higher than min wage

You would rather play Civ than have nearly four grand? You could buy a gun for that and kill yourself with it!

I would rather play Civ than work over 500 hours in a min wage job when I'm worth much more. Each to their own I guess.

He spends his time playing Civ V because apparently he's worth more than 4 grand despite spending 4 grands worth of time pretending to be Cleopatra

Yes, I'm a lighting designer.

@582,697 (The Owl !KThEOwLwbU)
Haha so angry at how others spend free time. FYI some of these games have been out since 2009. What's 500 hours over 6 years? I guess you would rather be flipping burgers in a never ending cycle of work and no play. Do you even date?

Really? We're still at that? If OP had put those hours into a hobby like reading novels or traveling, people would probably be impressed. But apparently, liking games too much is still for losers.

No I fully support OP's determination to play with himself for 98 days straight without breaks.

If OP played his games in 8 hour shifts every single day, it would take him 296 days to get to the level he is at, leaving a paltry 19 days vacation to complete the full year.

But he obviously didn't do it over a single year...

And you're still implying that it's somehow "wrong" to play games so much. I highly doubt you'd be saying this stuff if he'd spent the time socialising or painting or something.

The good thing about books is they don't keep track of your time reading them. So when a friend sees my bookshelf I can just go "Oh, that junk? theyre just for decoration. I only skimmed through a couple of them. I have a life."

No, certainly not. Although, comic books have a lot less words generally, so you'd probably be seen as more of a comic book nerd rather than a bookworm.

Here's mine.

I was really surprised at Europa Universalis IV being so high. I knew I played it a lot for a while, but I had no idea it'd been that much. That game sure sneaks up on you. Also, Skyrim should arguably be higher, since I used to play it on the Xbox too.

Mostly non fiction political and economic literature. I also am partial to Anthony Burgess and Bret Easton Ellis' novels, having read A Clockwork Orange more times than I can count. And I like Geoffrey Chaucer a lot, having gotten through the Canterbury Tales (in Middle English!) as a child. Oh, and I've read a few of Aleister Crowleys books.
