Topic: Kings College London Study on being fat/obese

Anonymous A started this discussion 11 years ago #44,031

The chances for an obese man to return to a normal weight are 1 in 210. For severely obese men, it is 1 in 1,290.
The chances for an obese woman to return to a normal weight are 1 in 124. For severely obese women, it is 1 in 677.

The study involving 278,982 participants - that's a lot of fat - implies that current weight management programmes are not working on a population level.

People who had undergone bariatric surgery were excluded from the study.

"Priority needs to be placed on preventing weight gain in the first place" said one of the authors of the study. I.e. gubment-funded programs to stop man-babies and woman-babies from getting fat.

So, if you're a fatty, you may as well just give up. It is too late for you. Sorry to be so depressing.
