Since Islam holds that gays should be executed, something like this is obviously an attack on Muslims and should therefore be outlawed. At least, that’s what Swedish leftists – and, indeed, Swedish gays – are saying.

They are not “extreme far-right” though. Swedish SD party want to reduce Swedens already insane immigration levels and in Sweden to be even slightly anti-immigration makes you “extreme far-right”

It is intrersting how this is an implicit acceptance, perhaps even validation of Islam's homophobia. This seems a contradiction, as I would think that passionate left-wingers would hate that about Islam.
I suppose they just place more emphasis on race/other cultures than sexuality. At least in this case, anyway.

Western governments imported Muslims on mass thinking it was a great idea, then when it turned out to be a bad idea they couldn't just admit they were wrong as those people had become citizens in the country they had moved to and turning on them by pointing out that they have not assimilated will only cause more problems. So they paint over the cracks for future generations to deal with.

They must be motivated by ideology. What confuses me is how it's a nominally progressive and tolerant ideology, yet they'll protect the intolerance of of certain groups.
