Topic: Why are people so upset with Trump for the McCain POW comments?

Anonymous A started this discussion 11 years ago #43,974

What on earth is objectionable about saying the goal should NOT be to be captured as a POW?

THEN McCain refused to leave the POW camp until everyone else was rescued. So clearly, he WANTED to be a POW.

I'll teach you all about POWs in a minute, sonny. Because I'll smash through your window, and my fist will make several POWs right into your fat, greasy face.

If the stupid Conservatives vote Trump as President, he is going to say stupid things about world leaders and other countries, and start fucking wars. Stupid fucking Conservatives.

they won't, he already lost. he never had a chance really. he's actually not well liked at all. by hardly anybody.

but he's making the less extreme conservative candidates appear moderate.

He is the NUMBER ONE Republican candidate! These conservative fools are going to start World War III.

That could change later.

But if he gets the Republican nomination it might be good. Having an angry clown as the Republican candidate might make the Democrats look even better in comparison.

If he gets the nomination, only Democrats will see him for an angry clown. Republicans will love him, and vote him into the presidency. He IS going to start multiple wars.

The "serious" mainstream Republicans have been doing that for 20-odd years now. Haven't you been listening to McCain, Graham, Bush I and II, Romney, Cheney, Cruz, Rubio, Rand Paul (total neocon sellout), etc.

John McCain still was a hero for making sure everyone in the prison was freed sacrificing his own safety, sanity, and life for a greater goal.
If Donald Trump is elected president I hope he gets assassinated.

Hey kook, what are your opinions on Jeb Bush? I feel you might have some special insight seeing him in action as a governor.

I like him Better than the rest of his family, that for sure. I'd prefer not seeing another Bush in the White House though.

Yeah, I feel like his name and family are a negative. Having so many people from the same family in high executive office feels... wrong some how. But from what I've seen of him he seems engaged, informed, and to actually have an interest in good governance. (admittedly, he only seems to make the news when a hurricane hits and evacuation and relief efforts are being organized)

He's used to doing it in the boardroom and people like him for it on television. Someone called it "plain speaking" as opposed to the usual duplicitous words coming from most politicians. People tend to respond positively to that when it's about something they agree with which is why his "plain speaking" on immigrants from Mexico was well received by GOP voters, but obviously Lionising warriors is part of the western culture and especially to conservatives so his comments on McCain have been rejected by the right and used by the left to circle jerk against him further

In theory they should have taught USA a lesson. Instead USA keeps making fools of selves with wars like Iraq.

Its WE who tried to fuck up Vietcong - I made a living as Engineer for a while trying to find them hidden in tunnels - Technology at time did a piss poor job - Today that technology Rocks - Funny how it fails to be used to find tunnels just south of me where people n drugs are moved through -

Trump distracts us from the fact the other candidates are fucking dummies, buffoons, and clowns by slyly upping the tard factor himself. That's what the rank and file like.

No they didn't. The US fucked them up. We lost the support for the war cause we had no business being there. The US was winning, but there was little support for a war of attrition in the US.

Though, really, Cambodia suffered the worse. The effects of the US bombing campaigns resulted in far more deaths. We just added those deaths to pol pot's tally, though. lol.

I think it started out as an ego stroking maneuver to boost his image and he never really wanted to be president but then he went overboard with the Mexican immigrants remark and now, having burned all his bridges with NBC: no more Apprentice, no more Miss Universe, Trump clothing pulled from Macy's, it's the only thing he has left and he has to go for broke now. Because he has no more tv show and his brand is toxic and it's literally all he has left to fight for.

He has the potential to make huge waves though. He's rich enough not to be beholden to donors or lobbyists or special interests and so he can say what he wants. We haven't seen anything like this since Ross Perot. Trump needs to just go balls to the wall with this and stay in the Republican party. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Oh, yea, but we still killed a ton more. But yes, they were great fighters. No one had ever conquered them in like hundreds of years. They still won the war.
