I find it hilarious that Cheney acts like the deal is all bad and that no concessions should ever be given while this asshole a couple of decades ago (fresh from Reagan's selling arms to the Iranians scandal) used to lobby to have sactions on Iran removed while chairman of Halliburton. And his company's offshore subsidiaries also expanded business in Iran.

But why is the possibility of Iran getting nukes so much worse than North Korea actually having nukes? I mean, they're threatening Japan's right to exist. Japan is America's best ally in the region and we're committed to providing security for them.

For a couple 3 reasons. One - Israel is the only real ally with one hell of a good intel agency that USA can share with - Saudi Arabia is also useful but I don't see Saudi's as a safe haven for USA landing Military n Spy aircraft as they currently do.
USA Congress is full of Congress people who support Israel on religious grounds - Its always seemed strange to me that so many right wing Republicans see Israel as protection of Christianity -

Yep its the everlasting Bush Jr and Cheny gift to Planet Earth. Saddam was a very very bad man - but kept Rag Heads in check - Now with him gone and Trillion dollars spent USA again has made a mess of the region.
