You know what's more annoying than selfies? That era between 1960 - 2010 when if you wanted a picture of yourself you had to ask a stranger to take your camera and take a picture for you and it was awkward for both of you.

Because before phones had cameras, cameras didn't have quick auto-focus, so taking a self picture with it would most likely end up blurred or out of focus. Phone cameras forced the rapid improvement of auto-steady features.
