I tore the meniscus in my knee on Tuesday morning and had surgery yesterday, consequently I will be off work for around 8 weeks :(
On the bright side I'll have some free time to surf the internet and such. I was working an average of 75 hours a week for 6 months and just literally didn't have time for much of anything. I did travel over 100,000 miles and had all kinds of cool adventures though. Anyway, it'll be good to be back. Did I miss anything?

Doc said it was probably an old injury that slowly and painlessly got worse until one day it just tore to shit. All I did was squat down and stand up, when I stood up the shit exploded and I couldn't straighten my leg. It happened to take place when I was in the office, and there were a few people around, I think they thought I was faking or something. I was fairly embarrassed and mad. Also in a world of agony.

Thanks! I do too. Most times the doctors just cut out the torn part, but in a few cases they are able to attempt a repair depending on what they see when they go in. I was lucky enough to get a repair, but 1 in 3 repairs fail, and the recovery time is like 6 weeks longer and Significantly more painful at first. If it heals well though my knee will be almost as good as new, people that don't get successful repairs often have knee trouble for the rest of their lives (early and severe arthritis etc).

Team truck driving. Basically getting paid to travel with a buddy. Totally awesome if you REALLY love traveling, most people find out they don't really enjoy the transient lifestyle as much as they thought they would and around 50% quit in the first 6 months.
