It was a good action flick, but calling it number 11 of all time is just plain sad. I think the problem is movies don't tell good stories anymore. They're all boring, predictable, and filled with plot holes. They need to stop worrying so much about special effects and action and get back to making movies that make you think. Pixar makes great movies because they tell great stories.

It was a really good movie. Looked incredible, practically non-stop action. No real plot to mess things up.
Interesting tidbit a hunch of online dudes were boycotting it because of Charlize Theron's character. I forget precisely what they're rationalization was but they were doing reverse feminism, but not in an ironic way, they were being completely serious. It was pretty hilarious to read about.

I thought it was a commentary on the entitled nature of women. I mean; the brides had it better than the vast majority of the community. The only men with power were immorten joe and his family. All the other men were merely pawns for them to sacrifice. All the decisions the women made were wrong and it was only because of the guidance and sacrifice of men they were able to improve their situation.
It seemed like a realistic depiction of post apocalyptic society.

you're on the right track, except there are a few symbols you didn't pick up on that reverses that thinking. but basically imortem joe and the boys represent the patriarchy literally living off the milk of women.
also the "patriarchy" is blamed for the entire apocaplypse, and at the end Angry Jane is (again literally) hoisted up as their savior from evil men.
i'll write more in depth and do a scene by scene anaylsis becuase every scene is dominated by feminist themes. not that there is anything wrong with that, just that's how it is.

everyone is sick with radiation poisoning and cancer or they will be. apparently all the large animals were killed in the apocalypse (blamed on men, multiple times) and pretty much all that's left are mutated lizards and humans. which actually does make some sense, modern cows have been bred by man for hundreds of generations and so now they are dumb as fuck and don't have bodies that can naturally be supported in nature. most, if not all, domesticated animals will likely die especially after large-scale habitat destruction.
basically in the movie the environment has collapsed due to nuclear war and everything is going extinct (including humans) and some pretty drastic measures are taken to ensure survival (basically they ensure their survival by taking advantage of women.) pretty sure in the movie you only see one animcal besides a human, and that's a nasty little 2 headed lizard. pretty sure. i'll have to watch again specifically to see if there's any sign of animals besides that. I'm thinking there's not even any birds around.
So, it's either cannibalism or drinking mother's milk, which is the reason the women escape (as the main plot point,) they are tired of being consumed by men.

possibly, but within the confines of the film they only make an important note of the fact that men milk the women, and then love to drink their delicious "mother's milk."
They don't really make food a point otherwise. i believe in the opening shot max eats a mutated 2-headed lizard in the wasteland, showing us that there's not much out there to eat that isn't already dying and poisoned. Then, just a bit later, we see the women slaves being milked and their milk being consumed by a "warboy." in fact it's Immortem Joe's oldest son that guzzles the milk with enthusiasm. After that i don't think anyone eats anything else on screen.
And that's kind of important, if mother's milk and "consuming women" is a major theme then it wouldn't make sense to show them eating really anything else. it's just not important once you've gotten the symbolism of the Milk out of the way. basically they say, "women are enslaved and consumed by men," and then go on to show the women escape, rebel, and then overthrow what later get's established as the patriarchy. immortem joe and the warboys symbolically represent all men in the context of the film.
1. they literally represent all men because they are all the men (and in fact anyone not related to the warboys or Immortem joe's kingdom are all women) left in the world
2. immortem joe and the warboys and "men like them" are the ones who cooked the earth and destroyed civilization (from dialog)
3. female babies are not valued, even though they provide life to men. this is really the big point that i feel closes the loop on this thing and makes the feminist argument fully internally consistent. women should be valued, but they are not, only men and the violence they do is valued by society even though violence and destruction have destroyed the world (and threaten to completely end it because of greed, rage, and jealousy, immortem joes defining characteristics.)
Of course then at the end they meet the "society of only women" and they plan to leave all the men behind, but then they realize they can't survive on their own and need what men have to offer so they go back, kill the patriarchy and assume their roles as the benevolent rulers of men. then the women are hoisted into the air high above the men and are worshiped as saviors.
i could certainly go on or go into more detail if i did a scene by scene write-up. i'm sure there's a lot i forgot, because it is really, really steeped in feminist propaganda.

also there's a quote from the director out there where he says he believes men should concede power to women and let them rule as men have because he feels they would do a better job of running things. in the context of the article he was talking about it as an idea he first heard in like the 60s or something, it was certainly a "war of the sexes" statement though. which is kind of funny, because it's a pretty backwards way of thinking, that one gender should (or needs to be) subservient to the other. As if realy equality isn't something that can actually happen. Either men dominate women, or women dominate men. it's gotta be one or the other?
probably one of the most interesting action movies in ages, but thematically way off in right field.

Squeegee is absolutely right. What's weird is that if they tweaked the story just a little bit it wouldn't be feminist propaganda. The first time I watched the movie I thought "How is the idea of sex slaves escaping their shithead masters feminists propaganda? There's nothing extreme about the idea that women shouldn't be slaves to men." The women kill to survive, too. You are ignoring that. The one bride even says she thought it would somehow be different. It's illusion. It's a entitled mindset that because the brides are given special treatment they deserve better, despite the war boys literally being fodder expected to die.
Look at the milk maids, they're all literally fat and happy. It's only the delusional entitled mindset of the women that makes them believe they are better. The old bride says you can't own people; bit really she means you can't own women. Men were literally bled dry, whereas women were given shelter and privilege in exchange for their services. Other than the ruling class, who feminists always confuse for the mythical "patriarchy" no men are given any benefits for their sacrifices. They're lead to believe their sacrifice is their reward. Only the ruling class has any freedom. Yes, they're men but there a minuscule minority of the men in the film. They mourn the deaths of women, but the men who willingly sacrifice themselves are forgotten (beast from xmen).
The movie is a statement on modern feminism, but it's a criticism of it. Not a statement on how evil men are.

you make some excellent points. the bleeding men dry part has nagged at me, why after bleeding himself dry for furiosa was so important for the man to do before he allowed himself to be named.
it's interesting. i felt like the naming bit was hugely important and it follows a very critical part. really about the only thing max did that made a difference (besides appealing to the women on behalf of all men to return) was to give her his life blood and let women derive sustinence or support (or something) from men.
after he made that gesture, to sustain her life as women previously fed men, max finally had a name.
