what's going on with China's stock market? 2 marjor entire indexes have lost almost 50% of their value, the yuan is losing value, the gov is in panic mode buying up stock trying to stop the nosedive with "bailouts," and apparently there is no end in sight.

care to explain?

china has just banned major shareholders from selling stock for 6 months.
must be pretty fucking bad then.
but i guess that's what happens when your stock market collapses and you teeter on the edge of depression. and you're a commie.

It's just a temporary dip. Trust me, there is no stopping the Chinese economy. It is just a temporary psychological panic, causing people to sell for no reason.

in "capitalism" that's the definition of a stockmarket collapse that is immediately followed by massive widespread depression. the chinese would do well to be more careful when playing with fire they don't understand. you can't just manipulate the economy like it's a giant communist puppet. you can't just make your money worth something becuase you float against the dollar.

those are artificial stilts, and so is their silly plan to "bailout by buying up stock." probably their currency is undergoing a natural normalization by way of market collapse. you can't build a foundation out of sticks and mud and expect it to support 3 billion people.

currency will devalue and then everything will settle where it should be, and not where the government props it up.

looks like the chinese are getting an education in how capitalism actually works. which is nice.

I don't see how having 1.3 billion people makes having a stock market totally in the hands of the Communist party a good idea.

oh yeah, about it being a "temporary psychological panic," i forgot to mention that the chinese stock market started collapsing about 2 months ago and has just been accelerating and getting worse. Now it's so bad the government is taking extraordinary measures just to slow it down. The media isn't really talking about china much either. I read about this in the comments section of a story about Greece, then i did a little research and found a lot of articles about it by like CNN and shit, but the stories are buried and aren't getting much traction. it's finally, only recently it looks like, gotten so bad that the media is starting to pick up on it.

but this situation has been festering for months and doesn't seem to be going away. it's certainly not just psychological panic -that's why the government had to ban large shareholders from selling off their shares basically indefinitely. imagine if the US government stepped in and said, "nope, stock market is closed today and btw 95% of you can't come back to work for half a year." it's so anti free trade that it's fucking hilarious. obviously the communists have learned nothing in the last 30 years.

Have you discovered a new law of economics? Countries with over a billion people can't have stock market crashes? Better publish that paper and get a Nobel.

Fake anon !ZkUt8arUCU replied with this 11 years ago, 13 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #577,252

@577,247 (Metæ)
No there are two conditions. First, there has to be over a billion people. Secondly, they have to work really hard. Once those two conditions are met, all economic theory is totally irrelevant, and nothing bad can possibly happen. If bad things do appear to be happening, like the stock market losing 30% of its value in a month, and the government banning most people from using it, it is just a temporary psychological panic, and not a sign of a structurally unsound economy.

Thanks.

So the reason that the things you say aren't antisemitic, is because you are an antisemite. Am I understanding your argument clearly?

Anonymous D replied with this 11 years ago, 4 hours later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #577,371

@previous (Fake anon !ZkUt8arUCU)
No. The reason I know the thing I said wasn't antiemetic is because I know the difference between antisemitism and the criticism of Jews, from personal experience.

Also, niggers.
