I think to deny hypergamy is foolish as it's a very real thing. Women are also more interested in taller, good looking and popular men not just in marrage but also casual sex. I read a blog sometime ago where a woman was moaning at girls in college only going after the top 10% of guys and they they should be more open those who don't fit into that top 10% but are still decent men - which seemed good advice as she pointed out most of the girls could get that top guy but for one night only then that might give her unrealistic expectations for the future. However there was a plot twist... The main reason she was upset at all these girls fawning over that top 10% was because it ment she didn't stand a chance with them when there are 7 other girls at the party chasing the guy she wants.

Many people think this applies to dating and marrage where 80% of women are only interested in 20% of the men which might go someway to explain why more white westeners are single than ever before.
