It's typical to confiscate and search any electronic device an individual had access to. They will take any work computers you had access to and such. It's not to find more evidence, it's to eliminate all friends and family and coworkers from your support network so you are hopeless and they can get an easy plea.

I meant pedophilia. Assuming the "child pornography" was actually of children, though many times it is applied to people who aren't children. As a "child" is an individual who has not yet reached puberty by definition. I assume it is simply easier to have one term.

Well, pedophiles are vilified by our society. They can't have non-harmful relationships with children because of our culture' socialization (both in terms of how those relations are viewed and how we view children as not having any rights).
So, that creates many problems in how they develop, but absent what is forced upon them, at heart they are alpha males. Female pedophiles do exhibit these same detrimental effects as they're not vilified like men unless they prey on a child.
