They really want to remain in the EU, and their president seems to think they will still be able to strike deals. They just don't want to have to cut back on their spending, which the EU wants them to do in order for continued support.
Honestly I'm hoping they get cut off completely. I don't see this impacting the rest of the EU much, and calling it unraveling is wayy much of an overstatement. It's just a shitty country that faked their books to get into the EU getting to deal with the consequences now.

What do Germany, France, and the other more solvent members of the Eurozone get by keeping the Greeks in? I mean, it would be a huge pain in the ass to switch Greeks over to Drachmæ and work out a payment plan but isn't it better to grasp the nettle and get it over with instead of kicking the can down the road another few years?

Other then a generally agreed number of $32 Billion Greeks owe Gov on Income tax its super difficult to find out the percentage of Greeks that fail to pay tax's. Apparently Greeks have developed a fine art to tax evasion.
I just don't think Eu will continue to help stuff Greek wallets and bail them out Other Then year after year after year they have. No possibility of pay back.
