opensubtitles is a legitimate website isn't it? Then what the ass am i doing wrong, it won't allow me to download the subtitles, when i click on download nod32 blocks the page.

Yeah first party download managers are almost certain to trigger av programs because the only reason to not serve you the file directly is to install some sort of toolbar into your browser. Amazon music seems to be the exception.
