Also, just to clarify, I very rarely preorder games. Only if it's something I'm certain to like. Preloading can also be a good reason, though that only becomes a factor about two days before release.

i ordered one, so i'll let you know.
also you know you can make the touch pads emulate a mouse pad or a virtual joystick, right? so you should be able to play joystick games exactly the same as before. that's the idea anyway. you can either have it emulate the action of a standard gamepad or you can emulate the action of a mouse. the keyboard emulation is the killer app for me, though. if you can actually type with it the way they did in the demo then it's going to be the next big thing in game pads. but yeah, i think it looks awesome as fuck, and i already game with a joystick to control movement and a mouse to control look, so i think it's the peripheral i've been waiting for. but, it all comes down to how well zero order aiming works with just your thumb.

i'm optimistic since gamepads haven't changed much since playstation 2 controllers added analog joysticks. i'm excited to see what they can do after 15 years of not innovating.

yeah me too, i was also excited about the keyboard input in the demo, and im hoping you can use the touchpad to emulate a mouse outside of games as well, that'd be swell. currently im stuck using steam big picture mode or using a mouse to launch/switch between games
