How long will it be before Google or someone builds a global array of satellites delivering fast and cheap internet to all parts of the world? 2025? I can't wait to be madposting from space...

Good question with current Issues Most of the key Satellite engineers Google Hired bolted less then one year ago for OneWeb aka WorldVu and OneWeb has the block of frequencies necessary nor has Google made a move to acquire some alternative. One top of this both my most Fav company Qualcomm joined with Google on the project to back Space X which if you follow rocket fails - Space X has perhaps to much on its plate all 2 soon.

There are a huge number of attempts to pull off the massive number of Satellites required to provide high speed space net service and mega companies like Microsoft have failed on such ventures.

No question the world needs this but also so far no one has proved its possible to make this thing pay for itself much less make a profit.

Last I heard Google was trying to make balloon net happen with high altitude weather balloons. Maybe Skynet will start before Spacenet

I no I shouldn't laff at Ballons but I do. Perhaps that is why the major sky project n space is under the Loon group

USGov is still considering Ballons in WDC for security of White House. And Spacenet has been around just b4 IBM released the first PC. Spacenet has been owned by a huge number of people over the years and is currently a Israel company.

Its still a question if the planet needs Satellites for a cell system and with over 15 years of history that has yet to be really proven. As a stock holder in Google I wish they wood have less on their plate.
