Sadly, I'm not kook, but I've come across a few feral child cases in my time as a Psychology student.
Firstly, there's Genie. She's quite a famous one. Had abusive parents who left her alone in a room, was later taken in by researchers for a while after being rescued, but then that fizzled out. She eventually ended up in a "facility for mentally underdeveloped adults", where she still lives today.
There's also Victor of Aveyron, who was born around 1788. He apparently grew up alone in the woods, and was later taken in by a physician who tried to civilize and teach the boy language. He kinda adapted to civilized life, but never was able to talk.
But hey, since you're fond of weird Wikipedia articles, why not read their list of documented feral children cases?

Actually the replies/topics ratio is based on how many replies you make compared with how many topics you start. It's not related to how much --discussion-- flamewarring your topics generate. Unless r04r reinterpreted that when she rewrote everything from scratch.

I heard somewhere about these feral girls who grew up exactly like feral boys that when exposed to society's commonly accepted roles for women they felt like they were in an alien world. This came from some guy on Reddit.

This would be highly interesting if true. I'm a little skeptical about upbringing so entirely erasing innate gender behaviours (since that's, to an extent, hardwired into us), but I think I could accept an upbringing like that creating such a disconnect from modern society.
