Also... also, I was sitting around bored reading the RWBY Wiki the other day and I had no idea team JNPR was based on historical cross-dressers. I fucking love it. It even ties it into a nice little bow that Jaune keeps his promise by showing up to the dance in a dress when Pyrrha doesn't have a date.

Oh yeah, the show creators did a load of research into that stuff. Pretty much all of characters have nuances like that to them, like Emerald's surname meaning theif or team RWBY all being based on fairytale characters. In fact, Junior's name means "black bear" in Chinese. Makes it appropriate that Yang (Goldilocks) fights him.
Also, it is funny that you mentioned Pumpkin Pete. It is rumoured that he's the one who's really behind Cinder's plot, and that the true goal of all the terrorism and theft is to drive up cereal prices.
