I guess the fears about McCain's mortality were overrated, seeing as he would have lived to the end of his two terms. Still would never vote for him, he's a horrible man but he's got mad longevity.

That's incredible. John is 78 and looks relatively healthy. Considering all the years as a POW where he had practically every bone broken, and he suffered a serious injury even before that.

It's amazing that he was still able to get home and go through all those years of rehab. He's known to have a bad temper, but he was one of the first to call for normalized relations with Vietnam. I do remember an interview with a former friend of his who was also a POW in the same camp. The guy endured several years of torture, but finally had enough and signed whatever documents the Vietcong wanted. He said that to this McCain refuses to speak to him.

If I were him and had gone through that, I'd have a bad temper as well.
He's definitely an alpha male, and has one of the strongest constitutions in the world. I really admire him.
