What if Julius Caesar was never assassinated?

Well Augustus really got the ball rolling as far as establishing the principate and building a stable and prosperous empire that he could hand down to an heir, so Caesar's assassination was an event that really set the ball rolling on the political structure that let Rome dominate for the next few centuries. Although Antony and Octavian did almost tear the empire apart with civil war before any of that could happen.

Do you think they used the testudo formation to help them strike the killing blow? Jesus was a powerful sorcerer, I think they'd have required the formation's protection in order to close in on him.
