highlights:
1. showed off the consumer rift prototype with its cool new shit (funky looking shaped lenses for wide field of view and a simpler lighter design and new headgear.)
2. partnered with microsoft now as well as others. consumer rift will ship with xboxone controller included for free.
3. oculus rift will work with xboneone... somehow. this was the only weird part, i'm not sure how that's going to work, but probably only some games will be playable and microsoft is doing a "cinema" kind of thing where you sit in a room and play games on a fixed screen... which is weird. i dunno why you'd want to do that, but, more interesting is...
4. Oculus rift will work natively with windows 10. so they are integrating it in some way i guess, but microsoft is making a big puch into VR with their hololens stuff so maybe oculus will be the early form of that since the actual hololens as far as i know isn't going to be ready at the same time as windows 10. unless i'm wrong, idk.
5. several games were showcased
6. Oculus Touch - their new controllers. dual wireless controls with crazy shit like finger tracking so you can flip people the bird. literally. it was a real showstopper for me.

here's the new oculus rift. it appears to be wireless also, but i didn't hear a confirmation of that beyond the controllers.
pictured with head and hand tracking camera and included removable earphones.

weird looking lenses man. also they said it has 2 screens rather than one like the current versions. don't recall them mentioning the resolution, but they mentioned OLED screens and blah blah blah they'll be awesome blah blah. we'll see i guess.

It'll work with the Xbone, you say? Interesting! I'd love to play Halo on an Oculus.

I like the redesign. Looks much sleeker than the earlier version.

ah, it does appear to have a wire. well, i mean i guess that makes sense, it would be like having a wireless monitor i suppose.
and i don't think... i don't think we really do that yet? do we? wait, am i behind the times with a wired monitor? ffs.

yeah, it looks nice. i like the new head band thing, the old one lets it sit heavy on your cheeks and it ends up hurting your face and giving you a headache. This new design they say sit more on your brow and feel more like wearing a cap than wearing heavy ski goggles. again, we'll see.
