Like "Paki" instead of "Pakistani", " Tranny" instead of "transgender" or worse "trans*", "Fags" instead of "gays and lesbians" etc. It isn't to be rude it is just that those words are so much easier to type than using the appropriate word so I prefer to use them. Thanks.

Yes for Paki, but LGBTQ is shorter than "tranny" and only marginally longer than "fags" (though, if the conversation does not involve questioning identity or orientation, one could use just LGBT instead).

Yes but lgbt isn't a word and usually I'm not talking about L's and Bs and Ts simultaneously so it doesn't feel right. It is so much easier to say "my fag neighbors are great!" than to say "my gay and lesbian (or lgbt which is overly clunky) neighbors are great!"
And the Paki thing is such a pain in the butt because "Pakistani" is such a long word and "paki" is such a short friendly-sounding one.
