I posted that. Was looking for an expensive burger and of course there are ones over $2000
Nor wood I eat that as in pic. Looks disgusting. So this one is only $5000
THE FLEURBURGER 5000

What it is: No city does over-the-top quite like Las Vegas, home to the The Fleurburger 5000, which is America’s (and the world’s) most expensive burger. Priced at a wallet-busting $5,000, the decadent Kobe beef burger comes loaded with foie gras and black truffles, and its is encased in a truffle-infused brioche bun. When you order the Fleurburger, you automatically receive a bottle of Chateu Petrus 1995, which the restaurant has listed at $5,300—so, technically, you’re getting the burger for free. You get to sip the wine out of a Ichendorf Brunello glass, which you’re allowed to keep for bragging purposes. You know, just in case you want to prove to your friends how you spent $5,000 in Vegas…on a burger.

You get to keep the $53 glass and a bottle of
1995 Petrus, Pomerol, France is bottom priced at $1400 so the $5300 the restaurant shows is total BS - Prices on the web do range up to $2697

This is my problem with all the "most expensive $fooditem" shit out there: It's all the same formulaic bullshit. They use really expensive ingredients and then pile on caviar, lobster, foie gras, a rare expensive cheese, or maybe some edible gold leaf (or maybe all of that at once) and act like it's some genius combination... even if the flavors are totally at odds. The thinking seems to be "Well, if we put a bunch of expensive shit in there it has to be good, right?"

You may as well call it the "cognitive dissonance burger" because once you fork over a pile of cash for it, you aren't even going to be able to believe that it was mediocre. You are going to be compelled to enjoy it at that point or risk admitting that you just blew thousands of dollars on a stupid marketing gimmick.

Terrific reply. Years ago I read that One of the Henry Fords had a burger with a Bordeaux (about $100 a bottle at time) Burger was fresh ground Filet Mignon - Not exactly the most tasty meat but I said I want to try it - Hit best butcher in town who tried to talk me out of grinding Filet Mignon - and sure enough that expensive home made burger was dry and not much taste. The wine today wood cost maybe $750 a bottle and of course it was good to the last drop days later.

there's a place in Dallas' most affluent neighborhood that sells a $20 hamburger or something like that. it's like a 1/3lb angus burger or sirloin something or other. or it's kobe beef maybe, idk, something fancy. other than that i was just standard hamburger stuff and a big sesame seed bun. i remember thinking it was a very good burger, but i also didn't really think it tasted $20 good. it tasted like a $12 hamburger, about twice as good as a $6 burger you can get at any other sit-down restaurant. but not more than 3 times better.
