Sadly, yes.Back when I played Star Wars Battlefront, my favourite side to play was always the CIS. I was never shy about this, and made my loyalty clear. Mostly people were cool with it, but occasionally I'd come across an ill-tempered Republic fan who would tell me to die just for being CIS.

only online. pretty much the only way i see it used is as a slur. but yes, when i was called cis i was also called scum and told to die. it's only a matter of time before it's a common enough slur i start hearing it in real life. according to my nephew it's a meme at his school though and he hears it a lot. as an insult, mind you. i figure a couple of more years and it'll be spread way beyond edgy teens.

I think he's just saying that the parody and extremeist bloggers are louder because of their reblogging and enthusiasm, whilst the people with more moderate views don't mention it as much in the first place.
