Lots of them are just torrent sites though. Many are tv show streaming sites, and link lists to file lockers that stream the tv shows etc. That's not a lot of malware, that's just watching shit on the internet. Do you watch anything other than netflix?
streaming sports sites have been added to the list recently.

What do you do instead of pirating?

Like your grandparents do, you mean. Even people in their 40's and 50's that struggle with computers have figured out how to stream TV shows. Google your favorite show, two clicks later you are watching the latest episode.
Perhaps the internet is not for you. Enjoy your newspapers, library books, and driving to blockbuster to rent a DVD.

I buy music once I've decided it's worth it. I stream stuff on Netflix if it's western shows. I download anime on bittorrent.

I like that the copywrite industry gather all the best pirate sites on the internet and make a nice list for us so it is easier than ever. I like that proxy site even more.

There is more than just television on the internet. Did you know that if you leave Photoshop idle on you computer for more than 5 minutes it automatically cracks itself and uploads itself to the internet?

I only buy shit that I would actually like to see more of. This goes for both TV shows/movies and music, mainly music though.

Good point, but what about media that is decades old? Atari 2600 games, would you pay for those even though the developers are long gone?

If I could, sure. Sometimes you can find those sorts of games via digital distribution stores.
But I'm not usually into older games anyway, so the point is moot.
