i'm we're being seriously, i think the take away from all this automation in the workplace business is that no one should ever assume they shouldn't always be looking to improve their skill set and adapt and learn new things. automation can be a tool as much as it is competition. as part of my job some tasks may be automated, and that's great because it can make me more efficient and free me up for more additional responsibility. as soon as i start trying to compete with automation for my job then it's a losing battle. either i become one with the automation and transcend to a higher level, or i lose my job like anyone else who can't keep an edge.
i'm fortunate that my actual job requires many of the skills that are difficult to automate so the chances i'll be replaced even in 20 years is pretty small. especially if i keep improving my skill set.
also, OP, 20 years is an awful long time to be worrying about what will happen to the job you've got today. hopefully in 20 years you're off doing bigger and better things and your current job will be taken away from someone else. look more like where you can be in 5 years, and as long as you're taking on more important responsibilities as you are promoted/change jobs, etc. then you'll stay ahead of the robots taking yer jobs.
