I can't believe this is still going on! I thought that being evicted and being as low as one can get, would have kicked your ass into getting your life together.
It is tiring and disturbing to see the same old crap regurgitated for others amusement/shock.

Sorry, but you don't seem to realise how deep in it he is. It's far beyond "needing to grow up". His social life needs and overhaul, and he's a serious alcoholic.
Like I said, I don't change is impossible for him. But it'll take one hell of an intervention, which is unlikely considering all the bridges he's burned.

His social life is probably the biggest problem. I wonder if he has something like asperger's, as he doesn't like to look people in the eye, and has always been quite happy with his own company. He really is bright (despite his demeanour) and very funny when not drunk, and in a spiral of self-destruction.

They've referred him to alcohol rehab services, which wasn't great, due to his ex working there. He has counselling etc. He has been given meds to try to alleviate his anxiety around not drinking.
