I'll agree with you on everything except the redesigning. The system we have works, as long as the people understand and take seriously their duty to be informed voters. The media hype and general public apathy have caused elections to be centered around manufactured issues and distraction politics. We need a revolution to fix the people not the system.

I really think the biggest issue with the system is shortness of term and inability to work within systems set up by previous leaders. Supreme Court justices are set up for life within a time where the President is only in the lead for 4 years, which leads to Supreme Court justices elected by a President with opposing ideals to the one they serve under now.
