In just my experience, it's true that a lot of kids pick it at college just because they're vaguely interested in it or think it's easy. Later on down the educational line, those people generally go on to other stuff and just the people who are serious about psychology stick with it.

I love when people say this. It's so cute. It's even funnier when they turn around and cite psychological studies (or sociological or medical studies which are basically using the same statistics and standards of evidence) on the Internet like thy were the scientific gold standard.

The weird thing here is that behaviourism is an approach in Psychology. What you have said is a bit like recommending that people leave the United States and live in Texas instead.

Psychology isn't really a science though. Unlike medicine, which is. Whether that makes it less valuable is besides the point.
Just because you study it on an university doesn't makes it science.

I enjoy psychology and sometimes makes me wonder if I shouldn't pursue that profession.

This. It isn't as exact and uniform as chemistry or physics, but that's because it never could be. Behaviour is a very complex, variable thing. Like, one study found that giving people a hot or a cold glass of water gave them different impressions of other people.
But still, we can otherwise apply the scientific method, so apart from the above it pretty much qualifies.

Pretty much this. The therapy side isn't much of a science, but areas like biological, social, or industrial psychology or psychophysics involve making predictions and testing hypotheses. (aka using the scientific method to come to conclusions) These are admittedly "soft" sciences,and the results aren't as easily generalized as in the hard sciences because people and groups don't always act according to the same rules in the way gravitational attraction or a carbon atom might.
