Who did you vote for, my fellow UKenglish?And what are your predictions on the outcome? By far the leading prediction seems to be that neither Labour or the Conservatives will get a majority on their own, but beyond that things are rather unclear.

Important election update: I have just voted! For the Conservative candidate, specifically. My reasoning being that, to me, a Conservative-led majority would appear to be the best outcome (except if UKIP are in it). Also, it was between the Lib Dems and Tories in my constituency anyway.

This thing is pretty cool. It asks your opinions on the main issues and creates a pie chart based on how your opinions correspond to the major parties. So it might rate you as mostly agreeing with Labour, with some minor agreement with other parties. You can also compare how you correspond to the parties to how your local area corresponds overall.

Where I live is a safe seat for the Tories, only the Lib Dems could possibly pose a challenge. Labour got 10% of the vote here last year, Libs 30% and Tories 48%.

The Conservatives are set to be the largest party in the Commons but just short of a majority, according to the general election exit poll. Just read the current results. Fuck. Lib Dems lost 46 seats, gained none, held 8. Tories on course for majority. Labour not doing too well. Oh well, at least UKIP only got a laughable 1 seat.

Of all the people Ed could've chosen to replace himself as leader of Labour... he picked Harriet Harman. The party's just done, unless something magical happens in the next five years, or they realise they lost because they've massively alienated their left-wing, working class support base, and do something to turn that around.
Disappointing results in general, but on the positive side: UKIP only got one seat, lost their 2nd, Greens managed to keep Lucas in Brighton, George Galloway ("Respect") was beaten by Labour, and the Lib Dems somehow kept 8 of their seats (I guess that's a victory).

Oh, and the bit I like the most: the BNP went from 339 candidates in 2010, to 8 candidates in this election. They got 563,743 votes in 2010, and a pathetic 1,667 votes today.

I'm OK with how they've handled the economy, happy about gay marriage, their general attitude towards small businesses, lower taxes, etc., but the idea of an unadulterated Tory government for 5 years is unsettling to me. :(
