I was just thinking the same thing. In a controlled environment where you know no one is trying to torture you, it could be enjoyable. People do use sensory deprivation chambers for recreational purposes after all, and drugs of course.

I dunno, but do a youtube search for sensory deprivation or isolation tank and you'll see people do it all the time for fun. It's like an LSD trip without any drugs.

It actually doesn't feel claustrophobic at all. Build a pool with warm water you can float in. (bonus if it's saline heated to exterior body temperatures) Wear some ping-ball halves over your eyes. It's pretty jazzy. You don't feel surrounded by anything. It's like floating in the void.
