In the astro boy series from 2003, there is a episode where astro goes to a rocket launching complex in order to help design a space ship. Astro boy becomes confused when he malfunctions around a certain girl even though there isn't anything wrong with him. Astro decides to help his roommate and coworker to express his feelings to that very same girl.
A very smart move by astro i might say. You see, astro has no penis, astro does not grow old. So this was a tactical move for him inorder to not deal with the limits of his existence. I am also drunk.

I thought it would. The moral of the story is that the scientists, who created astro, were typical scientists who didn't do enough thinking. They built a human in the form of a robot and never wondered
what that would mean for that robot. Astro experiences his crush as something alien, he doesn't really know what these malfunctions represents. He has no way to externalize those feelings.
Astro boy may seem happy but in the end of that episode, happiness returns as the girl enters a spaceship to leave earth.

I think that if astro were truly human, stuck inside a robot, the feelings he would feel about this are too strong for him to even put into words. So it would be something which is very much a part of him yet something he isn't aware of.
