Sure. A brief skim through the Wikipedia article seems to show that there's a pretty good basis for a genetic cause, as well as some lesser envrionmental factors.

Of course. To me, people who think ADHD "doesn't exist" are in the same category as HIV/AIDS denialists, or MMR vaccine conspiracy nuts.
It's probably overdiagnosed in the US, though -- I remember reading the DSM criteria would apply to a much higher percentage of children than the ICD criteria (that the UK uses).
