the difference between political cartoons from 1943 and today is startling, lol.
They were dealing with some really fucking evil themes and they used imagery that just felt annoyingly oppressive. If this was going on today it would be South Park and Cartman would be executing all the jews and the imagery would be much more visceral. But then again a lot of the imagery looks like it was 100% influenced by nazi propaganda at the time so a spoof of a military parade (back then) was probably actually pretty insulting.
