It would be the longest undersea cable in the world, at at least 600 miles (1,000km), costing on current estimates £4 billion (about $6.6 billion or €4.8 billion). It would take four years to build and would deliver a gigawatt of power.

IF They are going to go to all that bother? They should build a 2nd pipeline to pipe in ice so Brits can discover that Chilled Beer is more better way to drink such.

God damn it Syntax. Your right, all the proffesionals in iceland are saying that such a deal would not even make sense for Britain but the question is then why would britain even suggest such a deal?

Could it be because they know the future isn't going to be flowers and love? That just maybe, energy crisis is something of a reality in the future?

Its best to first look at how UK has shrunk. Once UK owned All of States, India - Much of the Mid East and now its Not So Much

Brits are smart people considering technology they thought up b4 anyone else. Smart enough to see how history has UK doomed to lose a future energy resource off the coast of Argentina.

So they have to look locally as crazy a project as it seems. Not so crazy if you look at Panama Canal project. One possible problem is the brand new cost of energy which has dropped re USA pumping out oil which is causing a huge crash in prices - This could all come to a crashing end as its discovered Earthquakes in places as never b4 and by Co~wink~E~dink with pumped out oil.

One wood think that technology is good enough so Nuke plants are safe? So of course Japan is a mess re fail to think about simple water flooding of back up generators - And that is older technology.

Yet recently about two years ago brand new technology was installed at a Nuke plant north of me about 30 minute drive. Brand new equipment ended up AS bad design that leaked Nuke stuff into the air - Nor was a fix possible and now Nuke plant is being decommissioned.

UK needs to get off ass and create Fusion power E = mc2

Your whining like a bitch. You don't like syntax? That's fine, we get it but at least syntax isn't a whining bitch like you that goes around telling people to kill themselves. Whining bitch.
