I want to not suck at EU4. I played the tutorial but I got bored and suck horribly. Do you have any general advice? THanks.

Not sure what to say. Doing the tutorial was how I managed to get used to the game. Did you do all of it? Are there any specific aspects you're having trouble with?

Also, you might be better off starting with an easier nation. France and the Ottomans are the easiest beginner countries, I've heard.

I never played the tutorial. What worked for me was the thrown myself in the game and learn by experience. It was more fun like that. Just keep playing until you make it I guess. Try playing as a nation with plenty of things to do, like the ones KL mentioned, Castille, Aragon. Portugal is also good for learning trade and exploration, and offers a pretty safe playthrough if you maintain an alliance with Castille.
