All chan jokes aside, I know you're a skilled electrical engineer and maybe you could help me.

Background is after years of cutting myself shaving I decided to try an electric razor, and bought a Philips Norelco travel shaver. I like it a lot but the problem is it runs on AA batteries, and I don't want to buy and replace them all the time nor do I want to shell out the $40 for a rechargeable one.

My question is, the razor runs on two AA batteries in series, for a total of 3.0V nominal voltage. I have two old Li-ion cell phone batteries in good shape, with charger which like all Li-ion are 3.7V nominal voltage. I was thinking of wiring in the cell phone battery in place of the AA cells, but would the extra 0.7V be detrimental to the motor? As I understand it it would make it run faster. And would it be bad for the battery?

The other option is to buy som NiMH rechargeable AAs, which run at 1.2V but I'm worried about the lower voltage.

Which would you do, and why?

Thanks.

No problem using your old rechargeable batteries. You might even get a bit more speed but not so much because of the increased voltage.
AA Nominal voltage under any load drops a lot more then Li-ion batteries. So you now have all you need.

Also for the future and I have a prior model of this

Total cost of batteries and charger $10
The only downside is - does take 8 hours to charge a dead set

Is the Norelco factory a 15 minute drive from where you are?
