I am not saying anything about his quality of character. It is however indisputable that he is a drunk and has noone else to blame for his life than himself. He kept shitting on things, he kept burning things and he kept trashing things. He is so bad that he got kicked out of government supported housing, and he doesn't seem to have any intention of improving.

People get into all sorts of situations, and find it difficult to get out, without the support of family and friends, and doctors. Do not judge him too harshly, lest you yourself find yourself in such a situation one day.

His friends and family gave up on him because he pushed them away. He has full access to doctors because he is in the UK, where there is free medical care. But he smuggled alcohol into a sober living home (until he got kicked out), so it's not like he wants to get better.
