I can't assume anyone knows anything, especially if it first was in the news too long ago. People don't know what Chernobyl was famous for, what the Hubble telescope is, shit like that, I have noticed.

i was once getting a lift from work and my managers car wouldn't start so i suggested that we jump her engine and the response was "as if i would know how to do that be serious"
