He made a deal with hitler which then hitler broke, and some how this is seen as bad for him.

Because he appeased Hitler which first of all encouraged Hitler to continue his aggressive expansion since there was not just "giving him a deal" but giving him what he wanted with no opposition, also it allowed Germany to start the Second World War in a position of power which they would not have otherwise been with intervention from the League of Nations
If he had been intervened against in his re-armament of the Rhineland then it could have suppressed German aggressiveness and averted the Second World War
so his policy of appeasement failed completely to keep the peace and in fact made it much worse

What i mean is that of course it had bad consequences but it was done to try and avoid greater consequences and much worse consequences. I think that with this in mind, Chamberlain can be forgiven.
Just because there are winners and losers in war, does not mean that the loser did everything wrong.

But i think chamberlain has been judged way to harshly and that you might as well blame the jews in the holocaust for getting caught up with hitler.

The list of preparations for a massive war are right before Chamberlains eyes. Chamberlain turns his back and becomes one more lesson on why history is taught in schools. (Not that this changes much)
