Not bad @OP, and not meaning to boast, but I guessed the right time.

I'm sure you can get sub 9 minutes in the next couple of goes.

Yeah I think I can too and am going to keep trying to hit a decent time. It was actually interesting and a bit funny to see how much I've been overestimating my level of fitness. My legs barely worked and my lungs are still in pain. I honestly thought as long as I tried hard enough I'd be able to pull at least 8 mins off. Oh how wrong I was. Looks like all those days of sitting inside and eating chocolate didn't pay off after all. I've been living a lie, Anon C. A LIE!

I have not formally ran and timed it since! I will try to get to it tomorrow and report back with my results. I know that it's hard and I do realize that anon b has his daily autism treatment to tend to tomorrow at 3 PM sharp, but I promise I'll try and post before then!

Nice! You should consider trying couch to 5k, it really works. I went from no running to 5 miles, I'm sure I could run more, but just never did. Stick with the exercise, the more you do it the better it feels.

Couch to 5k is awesome. I just have a hard time sticking to it. I should try again!

Methlyfe replied with this 11 years ago, 3 minutes later, 3 months after the original post[^] [v] #587,562

@previous (A)
Yeah, try it again. If you can shave 2 minutes off your mile time you got what it takes for a 5k. 2 minutes is impressive.

The only way I could quit smoking was by thinking me vs the cigarettes, who was stronger. By tapping into my competitive instincts and anger I was finally able to kick the habit. I tried so many times and ways to quit before that, nothing worked. Quitting smoking is unreal hard, best of luck to ya.
