I am always wondering if they are analyzing me. It is very distressing.

I'm going with "no" having gone through undergrad and grad school with psychologists as advisors and instructors. They probably just don't care.

What do they say when they run into a mentally-ill person, whose illness is difficult to tolerate? Are they compassionate? Or do they just call them crazy and write them off as a non-person, like everyone else does?

I think most would probably realize there is an outside reason for the behavior and try to be at least sympathetic and supportive to the person. There are dicks from all walks of life though, so I imagine that isn't universally true.

There's no such thing as a "non-psychological context", they don't make as much of an effort after awhile if they aren't getting paid.
