The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals says it's okay to remove Occupy Wall Street protesters because they shit in buckets, essentially.
Problems surfaced quickly: “[t]here were issues with human feces, urine, trash, damage to the Plaza, and other issues....” (Id. at 17.) Nevertheless, the first weeks of the protest went “fairly smoothly.” [...]

By the end of October, however, the size of the protest had grown, and conditions had deteriorated. Many homeless people had moved onto the Plaza, “enjoying the sleeping bags and tents and food” of Occupy Nashville, and it became difficult to distinguish between Occupy Nashville participants and non-participants. (D.I. 72, ex. 4 at 15.) There was also an increase in the number of assault complaints and damage to public property. Carpenter noted increased problems from sewage, trash that was piling up, power cords that posed tripping hazards, damage to lighting, broken Plaza stones, the use of open flames, damaged electrical outlets, and other health and safety issues on the Plaza. According to Carpenter, there were “jugs of human feces in and around the tents, or jugs of human urine in and around the tents,” and sewage was being “dump[ed] ... into the bushes.” (D.I. 69, ex. 8 at 36.) Carpenter's observations led him to say in an e-mail at the time that the demonstrators “have lost control of the situation with the homeless and the environment has become unsanitary and unsafe.”

ah, the old "bucket of shit" precedent, how many times has that been used as a last measure to stifle people's freedom of movements.

Ideal case for becky to appeal this case to the US Super court. I think it still requires 3 years of law experience to argue b4 the Super Court.

Conservative court will overturn the low court ruling based on Freedom of expression

Probably a little more money in overtime pay for cops and other county employees, like clean up crews. A few landscapers might have made some good money. In Los Angeles, the cost to repair the lawn in front of city hall ran into hundred thousands. Other than that I don't know, maybe the one percentage catchphrase.

So because the lawn?

Seriously though, while I don't particularly agree with the occupy movements philosophy or their methods, protests are not supposed to be convenient for those being protested. The fact that they would cry about their hundred thousand dollar lawn getting damaged while homeless people are shitting in buckets and scavenging for food really drives home their point about how bad wealth disparity is in this country, and how backwards our priorities are.

uh, no... shitting in buckets and dumping waste all over the place is a public health concern. Not only that buy there were issues with people being violent. The whole thing become unsafe, filthy, and attracted non-protestors. it needed to be shut down.

yeah, protests aren't supposed to be convenient, but they are supposed to be organized and civilized. When that breaks down, so does their right to protest. this isn't about "wealth disparity," but more about not letting cholera start spreading through a hobo camp.

Perhaps if you were the one having to clean up the shit, your perspective would change.

Wait, no. You have a poop fetish. You would simply have sex with the shit. Nevermind.
