I never got past watching the first season... it just seemed meh...
Also, a friend was super excited I am back in Crorruptistan, she invited me to the premiere party and screening of the first episode last thursday. Didn't go, that's how much I like GoT :/

really? i keep hearing about it at least several times a day. what i've noticed though is that people are thinking it's taken a "turn" and it might not be for the better. Last season went fast and they cut a lot of really good shit from the story (strong belwas anyone?) and have altered quite a lot about the story. and apparently the show could functionally be very different from the books because HBO has killed off people that might influence the ending. So not only is the show taking a lot of liberties with the story, it might have an ending that isn't supported by the books. not to mention the show will likely finish before the books and that's got some people thinking the show is going to fall very short. personally i think the show will conclude different, i mean it has to be, they DID change so much. broad strokes, sure, they'll be pretty much the same, but for the fine detail and truth of it it's becoming more and more apparent it's going to be another 10 years or more before the final book is complete. GRRM has almost finished his 6th, and there could potentially be 8 total.
probably what seems like no one talking about it is realistically just people having adjusted their expectations. hype and impatience aren't really rewarded afterall.

Watched all 4 episodes today.
Enjoyed them immensely.
I said I'd watch them for fear someone here would yet again spoil a plot point for me.
They're only available in potatoe quality, but I have no regrets. Episodes 5 & 6 are rumoured to be floating around on private servers.

I'm not watching them because I've read all the books. I don't think there's anything to spoil in that case, is there?

i've read them all too. but yeah, there are some differences. the show is kinda "fresh" because there are a few major plot points that are added/excluded. but it'll all end up basically the same. more like the broad strokes will be pretty much the same. but it's still an adaptation. just not 100% faithful

Looks like Tyrion and Daenerys' paths will cross this season. I kind of got spoiled a tad long ago.
I wonder if Jon Snow will join them.
