Sex is binary. You are either male or female. Gender is the cultural idea of what roles men and women play in society. Gender is fluid because those roles change from culture to culture, can change within a culture, and people can defy those gender roles. For example, a man can defy gender roles by being a stay at home dad. That doesn't mean he's 50% man and 50% woman. He's still 100% man and is defying what society says his role should be. Conversely, society can change and say there is nothing gender defying about a man being more domestic.
Transexuals have twisted this to mean that people can be 50% male and 50% females or have no gender at all and that they get choose their pronoun and redefine their sex. I have no problem with men who want to live as women and visa versa, but all the gender fluid bullshit they spew is just that. Bullshit.

I should point out that genderfluidity isn't some new idea that radical transexuals have decided to push. There are quite a few historical examples of socities where some people identified as a mix of male or female, or even a seperate gender.
Really, I don't see why some people being genderfluid is so repellent to you. It's something that's existed before within human society, and doesn't really affect you in any way.

What I was saying is that the world operates in shades of gray, but SJs want to add whole new dimensions of complication to things like "race", "gender", etc. They need to stop focusing on the negatives and lashing out at everyone and realize that there are good things being done in the world too, by all sorts of people -even people with "privilege". A white guy buying a meal for a homeless black man doesn't have to be see as "asserting his white gainfully employed privilege"; how about "helping out his fellow man"?

It's not necessarily a "Tumblr thing" to say that gender can be a complex concept. As I cited in my above post, the idea of gender going beyond just completely male or completely female existed long before Tumblr SJWs. It's a bigger issue than some SJW agenda.
But, incidentally, I agree with what you're saying about SJWs being at times too negative, or putting too much emphasis on things like racial differences. I think they often mean well, but that sort of thinking has some serious pitfalls too, like the idea that people are defined by skin colour.
