Doesn't Scientology usually try to shut down this sort of thing with their lawyers? I'm guessing that that wasn't an option, here?

i don't know about trying to shut THIS thing down, but yes, they usually go after anyone who tries to publish anything about them with a bunch of legal hogwash. You can't actually stop people from talking to the press, but you can certainly sue them for defamation and other kinds of things and that's what they do to try and silence people. They spend a bunch of money to go after sources legally and financially and all that and they just basically throw a lawyer with a bunch of money around and try ti make it very expensive to bad mouth Scientology. but you can't do that forever and it was only a matter of time before someone like HBO with a ton of money would risk doing something like this which probably will end up in some kind of law suit.

It should be legally defined as a cult, not a religion.

I suppose if there's one good thing you can say about Scientology, it's that they give lawyers plenty of work.

Please notice the Cross on top - true of all Scientology buildings.
And YES I have it programed on TVio for view later - 150 ,Lololololol
It currently costs $250,000 to be clued in
From Wiki that only asks for donations once a year
Xenu (/ˈziːnuː/), also called "Xemu", was, according to Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, the dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy" who 75 million years ago brought billions of his people to Earth (then known as "Teegeeack") in a DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes, and killed them with hydrogen bombs. Official Scientology scriptures hold that the thetans (immortal spirits) of these aliens adhere to humans, causing spiritual harm.

Was this before you invented the E-meter while advising L. Ron Hubbard about whether tomatoes could feel pain?

oh really? damn, i bet they are preparing to go to battle. i wouldn't be surprised if they had to fight an injunction or something leading up to the weekend. i'm sure they'll end up doing a documentary OF this documentary. that would be cool too.

Scientology uses High Tech electronics for E-Meter
They do have advanced electronics for digital and analog readouts. Quality electronics for Si-Fi religion.

Okay, I saw it. 7/10. They left out some really interesting stuff like the disappearance of the current president's wife. A lot of it will be familiar if you've followed scientology at all online. But very well done and good interviews.
